Wellesley Youth Hockey is offering three programs this year for those players who are early on in their hockey career. All three programs are designed for players of all ages and sessions will be held at our new rink.
The first two programs are designed for those with less than one year’s experience and are offered in conjunction with our partners The Elite Edge Skating Club. The first program, Learn to Skate, is for those who have little or no experience on the ice. The second program, Learn to Play, is for players who have completed learn to skate. Here, players are introduced to more advanced skating skills as well as puck-handling techniques. Please follow these links for more information:

The Pre-Mite Development (PMD) Program (formally known as the Mosquito Hockey Program) is recommended for children age 5 - 11 who have been through a Learn to Play or a similar program. For those skaters who were enrolled in WYH's Learn to Play last season, you should register your skater in this program. Skating is still a focus, but hockey skill development is emphasized, while beginning to incorporate the rules/game of hockey. Mosquito players are placed onto teams of approximately 10-15 players each. The season begins with skill development sessions and during the course of the year controlled scrimmages, with coaches providing on-ice guidance, are added. This program is run by in town volunteers, and parents are encouraged to strap on the skates and help out on the ice (please register as a coach using the registation like below). The Mosquito season will run from about mid-November until about mid-March. There will be an average of two sessions per week, Saturdays and Sundays, and the tuition for the year is still $600.
